Mainline steam doesn't happen too often in my area so we were treated to something a bit different on the 11th February when BR (ER) B1 No. 61306 'Mayflower' made her long awaited mainline debut. She ran 'The Royal Norfolkman' from Norwich to Windsor & Eton Riverside. Sadly conditions were gloomy but I was able to capture the locomotive at Colchester, Witham & Chelmsford.

61306 was built in 1948 as one of 410 locomotives. Just two have survived into preservation, the other being No. 61264.
